What an Information architecture can do.

Prior to this week’s reading I had never encountered information architecture and what exactly it was remained unclear to me. From what I gleaned an information architect is responsible for creating a space or venue for a user to access and interact with information.  In the present age this manifests itself in the form of websites. Information Architecture’s are not just the organizers of information, but also advocates of the end-user, it needs to have multi-abilities such as design, analysis, website technology. The information architect will have the best interest of the user in mind.  Generally, information architecture is for organizing information inventories and static website hierarchies, and solving the problem of information disorganization.it is more like show the design to the customers, to have a good user experience, in order to get your site or product more usable. The future has more work with Information Architecture,

Coinciding with my readings “Information as Architecture” p260 by Hinton, A., the author gave some definition of information. “1. The structural design of shared information environments. 2. The art and science of organizing and labeling web sites, intranets, online communities and software to support usability and fundability. 3. An emerging community of practice focused on bring principles of design and architecture to the digital landscape. ”
