See ourselves as users – Vocabularies

When we design, it’s very easy for us to forget our users. Maybe many of the times we will think from ourselves’ own points like I think it’s good but not users think it’s good. So it’s very easy for us to make mistakes and design something that only we can understand and we think users should also understand but in fact users feel very confused.

As users, we sometimes also don’t understand what that means when we see the words in a website or we think that word should represent this meaning, but when we click into that link, it show totally different things. For example, when I saw “Disney side” in the navigation bar, I don’t know what that is which is confused me. After I clicked into that link, I figured out it’s more like a pictures sharing wall, but I still feel confused why it called “Disney side”. Thus, see ourselves as users and think the language from users perspective is very important.
