Z515 Spring 2015

Representations by Bruno Bozzetto

I used this video in my Warmup, and I’m going to post it here again because I think it’s so simple and insightful. The video is titled Men vs Women and it explores stereotypes between the two genders.

What I especially love about the video is that it explores this issue using very simple representations  but the story is still powerful and even makes you think and question your own views on gender.

As stated in the Norman text, good representation captures the essential of an event and makes it easier to follow through a narrative. And this rings true with the Bozzetto piece.

This week’s unit on representations has been really eyeopening for me as an HCId student. This is because good storytelling is a key element in our process. Using the right representations for the story can make the story much more engaging.
